Gov. Bryant weighs in on withheld education contracts
Gov. Phil Bryant, while stressing that legislators can make their on decision in terms of releasing open records, stopped short Thursday of defending the decision of the legislative leaders not to release the contract with EdBuild.
New Jersey-based EdBuild has been hired by the legislative leadership as the consultant in possibly rewriting the funding formula that provides state funds to local school districts.
“The Legislature can make their own decision without asking the executive branch,” Bryant said. “I will say an open government is a better government.”
