Bishop: AG investigation unwarranted in election challenge
Attorney General Jim Hood injecting his criminal investigation unit into the District 4 election challenge is improper, David Bishop, who was seated as supervisor in January, said in response to a motion by Hood to seize and inspect the ballot boxes. Bishop also responded to a motion by the challenger, saying the deadline has passed for the special judge to recuse himself. Hood’s office has sought to seize and inspect the ballot boxes from the November election, which are currently under a protective order by Special Judge Henry Lackey of Calhoun City.
