Congressman Thompson fighting new Jackson airport law in Washington

Rep. Bennie Thompson will take airport takeover battle to DC

“The only two course of action is in the courts and in Washington. I’ll do what I can Washington to turn it around,” Thompson said.

Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber supports Thompson’s battle:.

“It’s our intent to ensure that the constitutionality of the citizens in Jackson aren’t being infringed upon by this action,” Yarber said.”

“Clearly, it’s a part of state government’s efforts working with certain officials to take it over. I’m one of those individuals who will oppose it,” Thompson said.
