Miss. House agrees to resume work after partisan rift
First, House Speaker Philip Gunn, R-Clinton, stood aside as Democrats lobbied Republican Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves to kill a redistricting bill that sparked the breakdown.
Second, Gunn agreed to at least partially reverse a Thursday rules change that abolished members’ right to address the House on personal topics.
Third, Gunn agreed to provide the House Democratic Caucus with employee support, and to meet with House Democrats to head off some conflicts.
