Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump took a shot at former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour on Tuesday on the ABC program “Good Morning America.”
Trump was responding to a question from George Stephanopoulos, who referenced a New York Times article quoting Henry Barbour, the former governor’s nephew who serves as Mississippi’s Republican National Committeeman….
….Henry Barbour asked ABC for a correction, stood by his quotes in the New York Times and said: “Republicans must win the White House and I believe Hillary Clinton would likely beat Trump or Cruz. They’re running divisive and negative campaigns that would be unlikely to persuade swing voters in states such as Colorado, Florida, Virginia or Ohio in a general election. We can’t hand this to Hillary, so Republicans need to unite behind our strongest conservative candidate who can win both the nomination and beat Hillary Clinton. I believe that person will emerge after New Hampshire or South Carolina and give Republicans a much better option than Trump or Cruz.”
