September state tax collections lower than expected
September was not a good month for revenue collections needed to fund the state budget, according to a report compiled by the staff of the Legislative Budget Committee.
For the month of September, revenue collections were $30.02 million or 5.92 percent below the official estimate that was used during the 2015 session when the Legislature developed a budget to fund state government, ranging from public education to health care to public safety.
