If the answer during this election is “Initiative 42” then the question mostly certainly is not “what will fully fund education.” More likely, the question is “What will transfer education decisions from your locally elected school boards and legislators to lawyers and judges?”
In The Restaurant at the End of the Universe – book two of the Hitchhiker saga – we are told, “There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”
If you’re looking for something to make the education bureaucracy even more bizarre and inexplicable, the judicial orders coming out of Initiative 42 could be what you’re looking for.
But that’s your decision.
