Meanwhile, in what I am sure will be an effort to bring sanity and objectivity to a process run amuck, Mississippi has seen the arrival of our old pals from True The Vote, the famous social-welfare organization that is absolutely not a voter-suppression outfit — Just ask their lawyers — even though almost all of its tax-exempt social-welfare work results in fewer people voting. They’ve joined the McDaniel dead-enders in a lawsuit that certainly will do a lot toward healing the state’s wounds, especially since the entire lawsuit seems to be based on the legal principles established one day at Faber College.
