Childers focused on November, says it’s time to move the state forward
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) –
After a dirty primary season for Mississippi Republicans, the Democratic candidate for United States Senate is focused on moving Mississippi forward.
“We’ve come from a tough primary, people have election fatigue,” said candidate Travis Childers on a stop in Hattiesburg Wednesday morning. “I’m the candidate who I think can unite this state back together.”
Childers strayed from discussing the Republican primary and runoff, and instead wanted to focus on his platform for the November general election: fully funding education, job growth and equal pay for women. That’s why he’s traveling the Pine Belt this week to hear the concerns of voters…
…”I voted across party lines when I thought the other side had a better idea,” said Childers. “I know what it’s like to be up there and get things done.”
