Mississippi Democratic Party chairman Rickey Cole sent an email this morning inviting people to a Dinner meet and greet with Travis Childers in Biloxi this Thursday night, May 15, 2014 at 7pm.
Cole begins the email saying, “Join us in Biloxi tomorrow night to meet Mississippi’s next Senator, Congressman Travis Childers, at the 4th Congressional District Democratic Caucus May meeting, being hosted by Harrison County at the Donal Snyder Community Center.”
Since when do party chairmen openly endorse primary candidates? Perhaps when the challenger is Bill Marcy.
Listed on Cole’s email to also appear at the meeting are: Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran, Jackson County Supervisor Melton Harris, Councilman Felix Gines, and 4th District Congressional candidates Matt Moore and Trish Causey.
Cole doesn’t take a position on either of the 4th District Democratic Congressional candidates. Perhaps it’s because neither is named Bill Marcy.
Cole concludes his endorsement, er announcement email with: “If you would like to contribute to Congressman Childers campaign, please click here to do so!”
So what about Bill Marcy, Rickey?
