US Senate candidate Chris McDaniel signs term limit pledge; doesn’t say if he will limit himself

By: Magnolia Tribune - February 3, 2014

McDaniel release

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge in support of term limits.

The pledge states:

“I, Chris McDaniel, pledge that as a member of Congress I will cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits Amendment of three (3) House terms and two (2) Senate terms and no longer limit.”

“After spending decades in Washington, too many career politicians lose touch with the voters who elected them,” McDaniel said. “Sadly, Mississippians have witnessed this in Senator Cochran, who, after more than forty years in Washington, D.C., has lost touch with Mississippi values and even voted to fund Obamacare and for increase taxes. Term limits will reverse this trend and make sure politicians work for the people, not for the lobbyists, corporations and special-interests.”

McDaniel does not say in the release whether or not he will limit himself to the two terms in the Senate if elected as the pledge states.
