Cochran leads pack in political favorability poll
A new poll gauging the popularity of Mississippi’s top elected leaders is circulating and causing a stir in political circles.
It shows U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran and Gov. Phil Bryant, both Republicans, having high favorability and name recognition, at levels that might make would-be challengers think twice. Likewise for Attorney General Jim Hood, Mississippi’s lone Democratic statewide elected official.
Below that tier, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann leads the pack in popularity, followed by Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, State Auditor Stacey Pickering, Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney and Treasurer Lynn Fitch.
