Barbour Shoots Down Rumors About Possible White House Job

With just 18 days left before the presidential election, rumors about candidates for jobs in a possible Romney administration are flying fast and furious. As MPB’s Sandra Knispel reports from Oxford, one such rumor involves Mississippi’s former Governor Haley Barbour.

Nine months after leaving office, former governor Barbour’s name had surfaced in rumors about a possible White House position should Gov. Mitt Romney win the presidential election. Here’s what Barbour told MPB:

“I’m trying to do everything I can do get Mitt Romney elected president but I’ve had my last government job. I wouldn’t give anything for working in the White House for President Reagan, four years as chairman as one of the two great political parties of the world, eight years as governor, but I think it’s time for others and I don’t think I’ll ever have another government job, thank you.”
