Lawsuits a concern for Hattiesburg City Council
The City of Hattiesburg may soon be hit with multiple lawsuits, as City Council members spent more than one hour behind closed doors during a special-called meeting Thursday to discuss potential litigation.
After the executive session, Ward 4 Councilman Dave Ware said the threat of litigation centered on “one area of concern with possible multiple lawsuits.”
Ward said he was not at liberty to discuss specifics. The special-called meeting comes two days after Hattiesburg City Council and Mayor Johnny DuPree received a letter of grievance from attorney Kim Chaze on behalf of municipal court judge Vanessa Jones.
