MDOT corrects itself: It’s 2014 for Highway 6 finish

The Mississippi Department of Transportation corrected itself Tuesday on the completion date for Mississippi Highway 6 from Tupelo to Highway 342 in Pontotoc County.

The completion date is May 30, 2014, not May 30, 2013, as MDOT confirmed to the Daily Journal on Monday afternoon and as reported in Tuesday’s edition.

MDOT engineer Jamie McDonald said a list of completion dates incorrectly listed 2013. MDOT District Engineer Bill Jamieson referred to that list while in the Tupelo office on Monday.

“It was off a typo on the list,” McDonald said.
