The George County Board of Supervisors spent several days over the past week in Washington, D.C., meeting with elected leaders in an effort to keep the proposed $50 million Lake George reservoir project forefront in their minds, Ken Flanagan, the board’s communications director, said this afternoon.
Representatives from the Pat Harrison Waterway District and Jackson County Board of Supervisors joined supervisors Larry Havard, Kelly Wright, Larry McDonald and Fred Croom on the trip.
Supervisors updated U.S. Senators Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, and House Representative Steven Palazzo on the project’s timeline, pre-permitting process and possible funding sources.
