Mississippi delegates praise Dem platform change
Mississippi delegates to the Democratic National Convention mostly praised their party’s stance a day after the party altered its platform to include mentions of God and Jerusalem.
“I stood here beside (former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland) when he made the motion to amend the platform,” said former state party chairman Jamie Franks of Mooreville on Thursday. “And I supported it.”
However, the platform change didn’t go over as well with other delegates at the Charlotte, N.C. convention.
