Gov. Bryant watching Tropical Storm Debby path, forecast
Tropical Storm Debby’s path may spare Mississippi a direct hit according to the latest forecast, but Gov. Phil Bryant is closely monitoring the storm as it drenches Florida.
Bryant met with MEMA officials Sunday afternoon for an update of the storm, which earlier Sunday appeared set to move close to Mississippi, with potential of a direct hit. Monday morning, it appears the storm will not move west toward a direct strike on Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Most forecast models show the storm in stationary pattern for days, possibly drenching Florida and spawning tornadoes before making landfall.
Still, Bryant said he is keeping watch.
