CL – Immigration ruling won’t end debate in Mississippi
The U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down key provisions of Arizona’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants sets the stage for a renewed battle in Mississippi.

Both sides of Mississippi’s immigration reform debate cheered and criticized the ruling, signaling not much has changed as eyes have already turned toward legislation for the 2013 session.

The court kept alive a hotly debated provision requiring police to check the status of anyone suspected of being in the country illegally.

But even while they upheld the so-called “show me your papers” requirement, justices said the provision could be subject to additional legal challenges.
