Eaton’s move to keep documents secret denied by judge
A judge in Mississippi has overruled Eaton Corp.’s objections to sharing some handwritten notes from its lawyers in a trade-secrets dispute with a competitor.
Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Jeff Weill Sr. said he had “no desire to pilfer through Eaton’s litigation files” in the long-running case and ordinarily wouldn’t require Eaton to produce yet more documents.
But given Eaton’s record in the case — and in a “sincere and pointed attempt” to avoid going over the same ground again — Weill ordered Eaton to produce all handwritten notes by two of its in-house lawyers.
