Special election Bryant’s call
The date for the special election to fill the vacancies created by the imminent resignations of two members of the DeSoto County Legislative delegation is in the hands of Gov. Phil Bryant.
Bryant was said to be traveling Monday and could not be reached for comment.
Marla Treadway, deputy clerk for elections, said she has received word that Bryant will wait until after July 12 to set the special election date.
“That’s what the Secretary of State’s Office told me,” Treadway said Monday.
