Congressman Gregg Harper Endorsed by the National Rifle Association
(Jackson, Miss.)—Mississippi’s Third District Congressman Gregg Harper has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Political Victory Fund.
In an e-mail announcement to all NRA members in Mississippi, the NRA gave Congressman Harper an “A rating” and endorsed Congressman Harper’s campaign encouraging its members to “vote freedom first on March 13,” the date of Mississippi’s upcoming primary election.
“As a Life Member of the NRA, I’m very honored to receive the NRA’s endorsement for my campaign,” said Congressman Gregg Harper. “The 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms is an important, fundamental right in America, and I will continue working to promote and protect law-abiding citizens’ ability to exercise this Constitutional guarantee of freedom.”

March 13 is the Republican primary election in Mississippi. For absentee voting purposes, Circuit Clerks’ offices in each county will be open until 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 10, before the election for absentee voting. Circuit Clerks can receive and count any absentee ballots they receive in the mail by 5:00 p.m. on Monday before the election.
Currently in his second term of Congress, Republican Congressman Gregg Harper serves his congressional district and his state on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he is a member of the Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade. Additionally, he was appointed by Speaker John Boehner to serve his second term on the Committee on House Administration, where he is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Elections, and is one of only ten members on Committee on Ethics. For the past two terms in Congress, his peers have elected him to represent their class on the Republican Steering Committee.
