State Republican officials are continuing their push to get a three-judge federal panel to appoint an expert to draw a new map of House and Senate districts or to adopt the one they offered, saying it more evenly distributes the population among districts than others.
The plea came in a court filing Thursday, the deadline for the various parties to submit evidence before Tuesday’s second appearance before the federal judges handling the redistricting case.
