Gov. Haley Barbour must be trying on a new political outfit for size with his personal – and successful – lobbying for a civil rights museum to be built in Jackson.
Try: Progressive leadership.
Two years ago, four years ago, yes, maybe even especially eight years ago, when he was running against an incumbent Democratic governor with strong minority support, who would have thought that the self-styled conservative and former Ronald Reagan protege would be instrumental in crafting public dollars for a national civil rights museum?
