Feb. 28 – State Democrats won’t name their candidates as deadline looms

What little speculation remains about who is seeking which statewide office in 2011 will be put to rest at 5 p.m. today.

The big question: Will any Democrats emerge with a last-minute decision to join the field?

“It may very well be a surprise,” Democrat Party Chairman Jamie Franks said last week.

But he’s not naming names, saying, “A lot of these conversations we have had have been confidential.”

Franks isn’t the only one not naming names.
