Decision on vacant judge seat underway
Deborah Gambrell said she intends to make another run at a 10th Chancery Court seat next November.
And Gambrell wouldn’t mind having a 10-month opportunity to check out the view from that bench, as would any of the others who participated in the race as official write-in candidates.
But that latter decision will be left in the hands of Gov. Haley Barbour, who likely will be required to name someone after results of last week’s election are certified by the end of this week.
Unofficial results from the five counties comprising the 10th Chancery had the late Judge James H.C. Thomas Jr. receiving 58.1 percent of the votes cast in the Nov. 2 election.
