MIM – Prospective congressional districts mapped out

About a month of so ago, the Joint Legislative Committee on Reapportionment released their findings of population changes among the four Congressional districts in Mississippi. We mentioned it in passing, but were certainly preoccupied with the impending midterm elections. Here is some more information:

In 2000, the average population of each district was a little more than 711,000. Based on the growth of the state over the previous nine years, I estimate the average district size will be changed to something like 735,000, which is about a 3.5 percent change in the positive direction.
