Texas’ struggles have many roots
Longhorns fail to get 10 wins for 1st time in decade
AUSTIN — By late Saturday night, Texas coach Mack Brown wasn’t even angry. He wasn’t disappointed in his players’ effort, wasn’t critical of his assistants’ preparation, wasn’t bitter about any missed opportunities.
From the looks of things, the aftermath of Texas’ 30-22 loss to Baylor had finally brought Brown to the acceptance stage. He realized his team is not only incapable of winning a national or Big 12 championship, but also will fall short of 10 victories for the first time in 10 years.
Not even a bowl trip is automatic for UT (4-4) this season.
