SEC West race narrows

An LSU victory would hand Alabama a second SEC loss and strip the Tide of controlling their destiny to win the West Division. Auburn, then, would need only a home win over Georgia on Nov. 13 to clinch the division crown.
If the Tide beat LSU and Mississippi State the next week, the West Division will be decided in the day-after-Thanksgiving Iron Bowl at Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Elsewhere in the SEC, Arkansas’ trip to South Carolina looks like it deserves buzz. But the game won’t mean a lot to the championship race. The Hogs are out of contention in the West with two league losses and a lost tiebreaker with Auburn and Alabama. And unless Vanderbilt upsets Florida, the Gamecocks still need to win Nov. 13 in Gainesville to take their first East Division title.
