After 6 straight wins, No. 21 Mississippi State happy to get some rest

There’s little secret as what’s caused Mississippi State’s recent string of success — which has included victories over Georgia, Alcorn State, Houston, Florida, Alabama-Birmigham and Saturday’s 24-17 victory over Kentucky. The Bulldogs have been remarkably consistent, winning each game by using the same script of great defense, running the football and limiting turnovers.

Ballard had another solid performance against the Wildcats, rushing for 103 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Quarterback Chris Relf also rushed for 79 yards and the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, but completed 7 of 17 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown.
