But the 65 points Auburn scored on Arkansas last week lends credence to the notion that the Razorbacks’ defense is vulnerable even to offenses that don’t have Heisman Trophy candidates, like Auburn and its quarterback, Newton.
So when UM (3-3, 1-2 SEC) steps on the field at Arkansas (4-2, 1-2) on Saturday, it’s hoping to do a bit better than the 10 points it posted in a loss at Alabama a week ago.
“I just feel like we’re going to go out there and try to do what we’ve always done before the Alabama game, which is score 40 points a game,” wide receiver Melvin Harris said. “Just try to execute. I give credit to Auburn’s offense, though, for putting that many points up on the board.”
