Alabama’s loss underscores the strength of the SEC
As much as some considered Alabama’s dominance in the SEC akin to the New York Yankees playing Little League, there really isn’t that big a gap between most of the teams in this conference.
How many times did Alabama escape a near-loss experience in the last three regular-season schedules? Tennessee, LSU and Auburn all had the Tide on the ropes last year. Arkansas had Alabama beaten this year until two fourth-quarter interceptions turned the Tide.
The difference this time was that South Carolina went for the jugular.
