Last week Travis Childers proudly accepted the endorsement of the Chamber of Commerce in his bid for re-election as he hoped to use the group’s backing as a hedge against charges of being liberal.

As we have touched on liberal bloggers, special interest groups, and even the president have focused their sights on the Chamber presumably in an attempt to rev up voting interest from their base. In a fundraising appeal from Organizing for America, they quote a recent speech from Barack Obama where he refers to the Chamber as a “threat to our democracy.” I know some like myself wish Obama had such harsh words for Iran or North Korea, but attacking the Chamber obviously plays well in liberal circles.
