Overlooking West Virginia-LSU is a mistake

West Virginia’s offense has looked more fluid of late thanks to the emergence of first-year quarterback Geno Smith. He introduced himself to the country in his first road start, at Marshall, when he led 96- and 98-yard fourth-quarter touchdown drives and completed a two-point conversion pass to force overtime.
Smith, who leads the Big East in total offense, will get help Saturday night from star back Noel Devine. Receivers Tavon Austin and Jock Sanders loom as Smith’s top targets, though one or both must deal with Peterson throughout the evening. West Virginia’s offensive line will wait until at least Thursday for news on guard Josh Jenkins, who had minor knee surgery Tuesday morning.
