The New Orleans Saints re-signed veteran tailback Ladell Betts after bringing him in for a workout. They released backup tailback DeShawn Wynn.

Betts, 31, spent most of the preseason with the Saints but was released on the final cut-down day. The Saints need him back now, though, with tailback Reggie Bush out for an estimated six weeks with a broken leg.
Share Betts and rookie tailback Chris Ivory will likely handle the rushing load behind starter Pierre Thomas. Ivory is expected to return soon from a medial collateral ligament strain in his knee. The Saints will have their first practice of the week later this afternoon.
