Bulldogs hunt for ways to seal deal vs. SEC foes
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State has fallen inches short of upsets and, ultimately, turning the corner several times during Dan Mullen’s two years as the Bulldogs coach.
Nothing may more embody the frustrations the Bulldogs have felt in their quest to be respectable again than their oh-so-close 30-26 loss last year to LSU. The Bulldogs had a chance to win but came up inches short, failing to score on four tries near the LSU goal in the waning minutes.
The loss hurt, especially after the way the Bulldogs squandered away four turnovers, allowed a 93-yard punt return for a touchdown and yet still somehow dominated LSU on defense.
