South Carolina scandal

Spurrier, speaking at a Touchdown Club luncheon in Columbia, said South Carolina will not appeal any NCAA decision.
In Thursday’s editions, The State reported that players had been living at the Whitney since the spring at a rate of $450 a month. That’s about $15 a night while the hotel’s extended-stay rate is $57 a night, according to a Whitney hotel source. Scholarship athletes at USC receive an off-campus housing stipend of $500 per month, according to the newspaper.
According to the newspaper’s sources, a couple players who hadn’t paid their hotel bill at all owed the Whitney close to $5,000.
Four players linked to the hotel situation—OL Jarriel King, DBs Akeem Auguste and C.C. Whitlock and DL Melvin Ingram—were absent from the start of Wednesday’s practice, according to the report.
