Mullen, on practice: “A little bit better”

STARKVILLE — Almost four weeks into the almost daily, repetitive post-practice dance with the assembled media, here’s how Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen opened up his visit with reporters today: “How was your day today?”

The joke is that’s a variation of the basic question that one of us asks Mullen every time he meets with us after a practice. He almost always responds with a one-word answer: “Good.”

So when he asked us today, I responded with a one-word “good” in my best Mullen voice.
