Auburn: We deserve piece of title
FWAA executive director Steve Richardson told reporters last week that about 20 members will have three choices when they receive ballots:
• Retain Southern Cal as national champion.
• Remove Southern Cal and keep the title vacant.
• Remove Southern Cal and give the title to another school.
Count several members of the 2004 undefeated Auburn team as believers they should own a piece of that title. Auburn went 13-0, while USC defeated Oklahoma in the BCS title game 55-19.
