2. New coordinator, new look on ‘D’

With former NFL assistant Teryl Austin replacing Charlie Strong as the defensive coordinator, there is a great deal of speculation the Gators will be going to a 3-4 defense. The reality is, UF ran a lot of that same scheme under Strong, so the transition could be fairly seamless if the Gators do go that route. UF doesn’t have a lot of depth at linebacker, but a four-man starting group of Jelani Jenkins and Jon Bostic in the middle and A.J. Jones and Brandon Hicks on the outside would be impressive.
