With Populous’ help, Stricklin looks toward future of Scott Field

When Scott Stricklin took over as Mississippi State’s athletic director in May, he challenged fans to think of the day when Scott Field would seat 75,000. Those were strong words, considering the stadium currently seats 55,082.

Yet there Stricklin was last week in Kansas City, where he met with architects from Populous who are working on the master plan for the stadium. And when the new media-savvy Stricklin sent out this tweet with a picture of architects poring over drawings, it worked some Mississippi State fans into a lather of optimism the likes of which only stadium expansion concepts can generate. As of this morning, 1,145 people had viewed that picture.
