Thursday, aspiring Democrat gubernatorial candidate Matt Entenza from Minnesota released an ad disparaging Mississippi.
Entenza said “that if budget cuts were always the answer, then Mississippi would be a leader in this country”.
Dan Turner, spokesman for Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, says people should spend time in the state before disparaging it.
Entenza joins a long line of prominent Democrats on the national scale, including Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, US Rep. Charlie Rangel and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, that have increasingly used Mississippi as a political punching bag.
The AP has picked up on the story.
So far, the Mississippi Democrat Party nor any of the state’s democrat DC delegation have made any comments or admonishments about others in their party trashing the state.
