So, what’s going on with that mascot search?
Margaret Ann Morgan is one of the two co-chairs of the 17-person committee (including 2 athletes), who are in charge of leading the search for a new mascot. You can find out more about the process www.mascot.olemiss.edu and also send in submissions of ideas to be considered.
“We tried to come up with as diverse of a committee as possible,” Morgan said. “We’ve got everyone from a freshman non-Greek to a graduate student who completed his undergrad back in the 1970s.”
Morgan said the committee is still in Phase I of the search, which involves generating ideas for consideration. There have been focus groups set up in Jackson and Memphis to help gather feedback. Both of those should meet in the next week or so.
