ACC is moving closer to a new television deal
ACC Commissioner John Swofford says league won’t be `the aggressor’
In an exclusive interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Swofford also says the ACC is moving closer to a new television deal

OS: Maybe even of more interest to followers of your league than the new TV deal is the possibility of widespread expansion and realignment in the major conferences and how such movement might affect the ACC. Any worries at this point about how the dominoes might fall and affect the conference?

JS: No, not worries. I would expect that we’re very solid as 12. That’s the message that I’m receiving from our schools and the commitment that they made to each other not too long ago – seven years ago. But at the same time, and we’re not an aggressor in this, I think we’re very happy where we are as 12 and very happy with the 12 that we have. But at the same time, I don’t think you can – I don’t think any conference would be doing its due diligence if you stuck your head in the sand, so to speak. And we will not do that.
