State was ‘average’ in the draft

Mississippi had a surprisingly average showing in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Only nine Mississippians were taken in the three-day, seven-round draft that began Thursday and concluded on Saturday. Fifteen players were projected to get drafted.
No players with state ties went in the first round, but business picked up over the last six rounds.
