POLITICO – Barbour: Tea party violence a ‘crock’

Barbour: Tea party violence a ‘crock’

Mississippi GOP Gov. Haley Barbour said Monday that any suggestion that tea party activists are responsible for violence is the “biggest crock you’ve ever seen.”

While there have been very few incidences of violence linked to any tea party protesters, former President Bill Clinton and others have suggested recently that rhetoric being adopted by the conservative grass roots is similar to that adopted prior to the Oklahoma City bombing 15 years ago.

But during an interview on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends,” Barbour contended that claiming the “tea party movement is going to cause people to be violent” is the “biggest crock that you’ve ever seen.”
