LAUREL — ELLISVILLE —Steven Palazzo, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Mississippi’s 4th Congressional District will be the honored keynote speaker at the T.E.A. Party at noon Thursday. The T.E.A. Party will take place on the west steps of the Jones County Courthouse in Ellisville located at 101 Court Street and is open to the public.

Elected to the state’s House of Representatives in 2006, Palazzo has worked diligently to eliminate wasteful government spending and limit the size and growth of government. Palazzo accomplished in his freshman year what very few legislators are able to do. He authored a state tax cut for Mississippians who work overseas in hostile and remote areas. The legislation was passed by both chambers and signed into law by Governor Barbour.

Palazzo has over 20 years combined experience in the Marine Corps Reserves and the Mississippi Army National Guard. He is a fourth generation Mississippian on his father’s side and seventh generation Mississippian on his mothers. His legislative roles include: vice-chairman of the Mississippi Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus; member of the Mississippi National Guard Caucus; treasurer of the Mississippi Legislative Conservative Coalition and three time Small Business Champion.
