Auburn fattens up Malzahn’s wallet
AUBURN – Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will reap a financial reward for decision to stick with Auburn instead of pursuing possible head coaching opportunities during the offseason.
All nine of Auburn’s assistant coaches received raises this week, but Malzahn’s windfall was the biggest as his annual salary will go from $350,000 to $500,000, making him the highest paid offensive coordinator in the SEC. (Four defensive coordinators, including Alabama’s Kirby Smart, make at least $700,000).
