Tim Tebow most prove himself again during Senior Bowl week

Some are surprised Tim Tebow accepted the invitation to come to Mobile and play in the Senior Bowl, but they shouldn’t be. The surprise would have been if he had decided not to work out in front of hundreds of NFL scouts, coaches, player personnel directors and even a few owners.

The Florida quarterback hasn’t shied away from a challenge in the past. Now he is being asked to prove himself again. Consider that for a moment: A record-setting player who helped his team to two national championships, won a Heisman Trophy and passed for 9,286 yards and run for another 2,947 is being asked to prove himself ready for the NFL.

It has to be some sort of precedent that a player with those accomplishments — a player whose size is not a factor — is the subject of more doubt than certainty.

There is little doubt Tebow will receive more attention and will have his every move evaluated and analyzed more than any other Senior Bowl player.

On some level, the doubts are understandable.
