Richt’s stimulus package: Say no to UGA and get rich

In uncertain economic times, we must applaud anyone who stimulates financial growth. Today’s ovation is offered up for Mark Richt, who seems determined to leave men wealthier all across the South. To recap:

• Richt pursued Bud Foster of Virginia Tech; Foster got a raise and stayed in Blacksburg.

• Richt pursued John Chavis of LSU; the Chief got a raise and stayed in Baton Rouge.

• Richt pursued Kirby Smart of Alabama; Smart is staying in Tuscaloosa, and it’s whispered Nick Saban matched Richt’s final offer of $750,000 per year.

Some Georgia fans believe Richt is failing them in his protracted — approaching its seventh week! — search for a defensive coordinator. I say, “Look instead at the bigger picture! Look at the increased tax revenue Richt is generating for the states of Virginia, Louisiana and Alabama!”
